Jack Di Tommaso

Jack Di Tommaso is a 29 year old, Newcastle based ex-carpenter turned PT turned fitness business owner & weekend fitness warrior who enjoys a beer and time with his mates.

From an early age, Jack faced extraordinary medical challenges that would shape the course of his life and ultimately inspire his mission to help others through health and fitness.

Diagnosed with a heart condition as a child, Jack underwent open-heart surgery at just 9 years old. He received a porcine valve replacement to treat severe aortic stenosis — a procedure that forced him to let go of his dream of becoming a professional footballer. Years later, following a diagnosis of endocarditis, he received a mechanical valve replacement, making him dependent on lifetime warfarin therapy to manage his health. At age 27, shortly after completing a marathon, Jack suffered an ischemic stroke — another life-altering event. Fortunately, he received rapid treatment thanks to a breakthrough medical trial using the Strokefinder MD100, a helmet-based stroke scanner trialed by NSW Ambulance. His swift recovery was a testament to both medical innovation and his personal resilience.

Despite these immense challenges, Jack found purpose in fitness. He became the proud owner of BFT (Body Fit Training) Newcastle, where he created a vibrant and supportive community grounded in authenticity, mentorship, and human connection. Through BFT, Jack champions a culture that values vulnerability, persistence, and growth — not just physical transformation, but personal empowerment.

Jack’s story is not just about surviving — it’s about thriving and helping others do the same. His journey stands as a powerful reminder that adversity can be a catalyst for positive change, and that strength is measured not just in muscle, but in mindset
